Defensive driving teaches participants how to control the position and speed of the vehicle safely, systematically and smoothly, using road and traffic conditions to make reasonable progress unobtrusively, with skill and responsibility.

The program is divided into 3 elements, the theory, the practical and the debrief.

The theory take the form of an interactive discussion that both introduces techniques that will be implemented on the road and also as well as covers how we put ourselves at risk and what we can do to prevent it. Time required 1.5 hours.

The on-road session allows the instructor to actively get participants to practise the correct techniques while at the same time assessing their existing risk level. Time required 45 minutes.

The de-brief uses the instructors assessment to go through areas that need improvement as well as highlighting positive elements the participants driving style.

Time required 15 minutes.
